Note: ONS defines dependent children as those age 0-15, or age 16-18 and still in full-time education. Family units only include people living together; people with children who do not live with them (e.g. who live in another UK household or who live overseas) will not be counted as having children in these figures. Nationality is self-reported. Data excludes certain residents of communal accommodation e.g. hostels; figures may undercount migrants due to survey non-response. Figures may not sum to total due to rounding.
