Over 15 years the Fund dedicated its work to securing the sustainable improvement to the lives of disadvantaged people in the UK and around the world. The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)

www.esrc.ac.uk
The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) funds research and training in social and economic issues. It is an independent organisation, established by Royal Charter, but receives most of our funding through the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. The ESRC funds over 2,500 researchers in academic institutions and policy research institutes throughout the UK, and supports more than 2,000 postgraduate students.

The Migration Observatory has also received smaller project-based grants or research contracts from Trust for London, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, the ESRC’s UK in a Changing Europe initiative, and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
